Chapter 505 - Desert, PK (2)

Chapter 505: Desert, PK (2)

“Go ahead and summon.” Feng Luo thought and nodded in approval.

Other players would probably consider the use of pets in PK due to worry about the deduction of Loyalty.

But Feng Luo did not have to worry about this problem, since 24K did not have to battle but rely on summoning beetle troops. Even if the enemy killed more beetle troops, its Loyalty would not drop.

This special trait of 24K was clearly superb in PK.

Technically, if all the beetle armies charged at once and busted straight through, any fiercer enemy would be stampeded straight to death.

However, it was actually not so simple.

Feng Luo realized that the system had a limit for such “explosive troop deployment” in PK.

Beetle troops which had died in the arena would not be able to be summoned into the arena again.

That also meant that Feng Luo’s beetle troops were essentially consumables in arena PK – each one dead would be one less in the battle. Of course, there was no effect in reality.

This was similar to the regulations for using consumables in arenas – in the arena, once players used a consumable once, they would never be able to use it in the arena again.

This setting was mainly in order to prevent any players from disrupting the PK balance in the arena after using some powerful one-time tool.

Of course, such a system regulation was not as big an influence to 24K as imagined.

With the deployment and replacement speed of the beetle troops, it was sufficient to ensure that Feng Luo would be able to summon a certain number of beetle troops in every PK.

Even if a period of time was really accumulated, “explosive army deployment” would be possible.

“Jelly, stop sleeping, come on out.” As Feng Luo summoned 24K, Phoenix had summoned Jelly.

With a flash of white light, a basket-sized “slime” five times its original size, with a semi-transparent bubble at the side of its mouth, landed on the sand beside Phoenix’s feet.

“Pop!”

Falling on the sand, Jelly’s bubble at the side of its mouth instantly burst from the pressure.

It then rolled on the sandy ground and after it was stained with sand particles, Jelly opened its black round ping pong-sized eyes, dazed.

“Gurgle!”

It let out a cry a bit dimly and turned back to look at Phoenix – this fellow instantly wanted to jump into its owner’s arms like before.

“Stop, no jumping up, I can no longer catch you.” Phoenix reached out a finger, pressing it on the ground.

What a joke; it was no big deal carrying it and knocking it a bit last time, but now, this fellow’s size and weight had surged after completing evolution. If it really crashed into her arms, with Phoenix’s Vitality attribute, it would probably be possible for her to be knocked down.

“Gurgle!”

Being rejected, the little fellow instantly straightened its head, narrowed its eyes, cried out and made a pitiful look.

There was no choice; who had asked it to have to change when evolving into a Commander monster, and instead changed greatly in both body size and attributes after evolving into Quasi-Boss.

Jelly had completed its evolution in these days, successfully becoming a Quasi-Boss pet.

Furthermore, it was a Quasi-Boss pet with very powerful attributes.

“24K!” With a flash of white light, Feng Luo also summoned 24K.

“Tch!”

After appearing, 24K flew straight to its usual spot, stopping on Feng Luo’s shoulder.

Compared with Jelly, 24K who had already risen to Level 42 did not have much change in its appearance – it was still the size of a fist.

Its gold-colored shell was very decent camouflage in this desert background – standing on the SUV combat uniform which had automatically changed color, it was almost invisible.

“Miss Phoenix, this pet of yours is so cute, its AI seems very high too.” The “gigolo,” who had just brought out his “Commander Grade Desert Rock Lizard pet instantly said with a smile upon seeing that Phoenix had also summoned her pet.

In the arena, there was no way of directly seeing pets’ attributes.

Jelly was a mutant cum evolved being; the terminals of players of typical professions had no way of giving its information, only Scouts’ Detection was able to obtain part of the information.

This time, that Scout was still joyfully circling the “gigolo’s” Desert Rock Lizard – he was clearly not very interested in Phoenix’s dense-looking pet with an appearance which felt like it completely did not have much lethality.

With the rarity of high-grade pets in War, he felt that meeting a Commander Grade pet was already extremely lucky – how would it be possible to meet an even stronger pet?

Similarly, the “gigolo” had not considered this at all.

He had praised Jelly as cute without saying anything else and did not ask about the attributes of Phoenix’s pet because he secretly believed that his Desert Rock Lizard Commander was the strongest pet among all of the people present.

Technically, the combat power of Desert Rock Lizards in deserts was above that of normal Commander pets. Even if Feng Luo and the others had decent equipment and a Commander Grade pet, their combat powers in such a desert would not possibly be able to match up to his Desert Rock Lizard.

As for Quasi-Boss Grade pets? Although there had been a few Commander pets evolving into Quasi-Bosses one after another in War these past few days, there were no more than ten in the entirety of War, and there was not even one in Storm City.

He did not consider that in front of this “cute” pet, his Commander Grade pet being showed off was one to be one-shot killed.

What he did not know was that Jelly was not an average Quasi-Boss Grade pet.

A few days ago when seeing Jelly’s attributes, which had completed evolution, Big Pineapple drooled immediately, and even Feng Luo’s face was filled with envy.

Although he did not know whether it was because Jelly was originally a variant individual of a group or because it had used the “G-Virus Pet Evolution Fluid” that it had evolved...Feng Luo was certain about one thing.

Although it was only a Quasi-Boss pet, solely speaking from its attributes, to a certain extent, Jelly was much more practical than a normal Boss Grade pet.

Of course, that was excluding such a unique power-type as 24K.

...

After summoning 24K and just as he had instructed it to open a wormhole and summon beetle troops behind a sand dune where it was unable to be seen, Feng Luo suddenly raised his head and looked up into the sky, and his gaze locked on a black spot closing in from a distance of a few kilometers in the sky.

After getting the Staff Sergeant rank and the black gold ring, Feng Luo’s originally very powerful visual sense was once again improved.

If it was in the past, he probably would have only been able to barely notice that moving black spot, then determine that it was roughly a bird. But now, he clearly saw that the black spot in the sky was an eagle.

An eagle-like creature with a body size not considered too big but which was flying fast toward their direction.

“Be careful of an eagle closing in towards us, in the sky around two kilometers away. Scout, please observe!” Feng Luo shouted at the Scout who finally regained his senses from the Desert Rock Lizard, moving slightly in panic as he raised his binoculars to look towards the direction pointed out by Feng Luo.

“It’s a Level 50 Elite Grade Wind Eagle – should be a pet of the players on the other side.” The Scout player using a detection device was able to obtain more information compared with other professions – this Scout’s face changed upon realizing the identity of this eagle.
