The Ancient Genes

Chapter 760 - Liar

Chapter 760 - Liar

"Of course in front of us!" Naze smiled while looking at Alina. One could say that he certainly was enjoying this game. Especially seeing the girl go mad in anger. Max didn\'t know what kind of relation they had but looking at the two, it was obvious that they were like cats and dogs.

"Enough of this.." Max flicked his finger, and a wall of earth appeared and surrounded Alina. It not only formed a covering for her, but also acted as a restraint. If she had any funny thoughts of escaping, then she could surely go ahead and give it a try.

"Tsk..you are no fun.." Naze shook his head, and threw a bunch of clothes at Alina.

"Hmmn..now that we have overcome our troubles, we shall proceed on the topic at hand.." Naze finally began as he looked at Alina. "We need your help."

"My help? In what?" Alina asked with a frown as she finally got dressed.

"Of course, we need you to coordinate with us so that we can prevent the Heaven Tribe from achieving what they want to do in Ocien." Naze stated calmly.

"And, you think I will do that?" Alina stared at him.

"Of course you won\'t. But, the question is how you see us first. If you see us as your natural born enemy, then there is nothing we can do. But, if you think of us as another creature with a different aura, then there might be something we can work on.."

Alina stared at Naze with a frown on her face. Of course she understood what the jerk meant. But, that didn\'t mean she accepted it.

"Is there really any use in talking about this now? If it had to work, it would have worked thousands of years ago." Alina snorted. "Besides, you should follow your own principles before suggesting them to someone else.."

Her meaning was very clear.

Practice before you preach.

Wasn\'t her situation the same as being held at gunpoint and yet these people dared to talk about stuff like this.

"That\'s because you won\'t hear me. I have got no option." Naze shook his head and sighed. "Anyways, we both know about your situation. So, there is no need for me to explain. The current Demon world needs to change. You know it better than anyone else."

"Haven\'t you seen it all? You yourself had been shunned by your tribe. Imagine those who are not a part of it." Naze\'s expression finally turned serious.

"Hmph! I can say the same to you people! Do you think you live in an ideal world? The common people here don\'t suffer at all?" She looked at Naze before shifting her gaze at Max, "How about you help me? Your Human world needs a change as well.."

"If we help you, can you guarantee that humans won\'t face extinction?" Naze asked with a clam look on his face, "Can your words bind the Ultimate Lord of the Demon World?"

Alina\'s face turned a bit dark on hearing that.

"Forget about that, just tell me how many allies you have back at home.." Naze asked with a snort, and Alina didn\'t have any answer to it as well.

"You are all alone! How can you guarantee our safety if we support you?"

"Stop playing games! We all know it\'s not possible! You people are just trying to use me! But, I won\'t betray my race!" Alina was firm in her stance.

A frown appeared on Naze\'s face.

He didn\'t think this girl was so patriotic. After all, the way she had been treated in the Demon world, Naze wouldn\'t be surprised if she happily agreed to massacre all the Demons present. After all, she had sufficient backstory for her own villain arc.

He couldn\'t help but look at Max.

"What?" Max didn\'t know what that gaze meant.

"Convince her.."

Max almost choked on hearing that. He couldn\'t help but give this guy a glare. This guy brought him here without a concrete plan, and now this.

There was no doubt that if this negotiation failed, they would have to go all out and kill this girl. If not, god knew what kind of trouble it would spell.

Naze openly roamed around with Max, and even with people in front of the Ancient Families. At this point, it was obvious that the Demons had an idea about this as well. It was unknown why they didn\'t do anything. Max had no idea why it was so. It might be because this guy portrayed himself as a spy, or had some other means that allowed him to do this.

But, even with that, Max wouldn\'t want to take any chances to let Alina get away. After all, once Naze was caught, then everything would be out in the open.

Max looked at the girl glaring at him, and shook his head inwardly. There was no way that this was going to work.

It seemed there was no choice but to kill her.

\'Hmmn..\' Suddenly, a thought appeared in Max\'s mind, and he raised his head to look at the girl.

\'There is no reason not to try..\'

"Do you not want this war to end?" Max asked as he looked at the girl.

"Can you stop it?" Alina asked.

"Yes…" Max replied as he looked her into the eyes.

"Do it.."

"It\'s not something which can be done instantly. And, it requires the coordinated efforts of many people including you.." Max looked at her with an earnest look in his eyes.

"So, you want me to betray my people?" Alina asked with snort.

"No, I want you to do what\'s right. Not for your people, but our.." Max said with a serious look on his face as an eerily aura erupted out of him.

These made both Alina and Naze\'s eyes go wide open in surprise.

"Y-You!! You are a Demon?!" Alina was suddenly dumbfounded.

"Yes, but not fully. I am half. My father is a Demon and my mother is a Human," Max replied with a genuine smile on his face.

Naze on the other hand stared at Max in disbelief.

\'Bullsh*t!!\' He cursed inwardly.

Half? Father a Demon?

Naze knew that this guy\'s father was transformed a little while ago. So, how the fuck did he become a half!!!

This guy was lying with a straight face!
