The Sacred Ruins

Chapter 335: In Seventh Heaven

"Ah, ah, ah..."

The group of experts cried out in misery as the eight different flames from the revered eight trigrams furnace burned them until they were rolling on the ground.

"Ow, ow, ow"

Within the origin magnetic cave, Chu Feng was in seventh heaven. However, he kept on howling in order to act as if he was even more miserable than the others. His loud voice reverberated throughout the place.

Two different cries denoting two very different outcomes.

Some among the group of kings had already succumbed to the tribulation and turned to ash.

Chu Feng, on the other hand, was feeling extremely comfortable as prismatic energy particles rushed towards his body.

Everyone outside the domain was startled. What exactly was happening here? They heard the anguished howls of the host of kings who were doubtlessly experiencing a great calamity.

But they felt something was off when they heard Chu Feng’s cries.

"Oww..." Chu Feng’s cries were undulating quite rhythmically. There was something fishy about it.

Some of those who heard him truly wanted to bite him to death. For instance, the old Taoist, with his extremely keen divine instincts, was sure that Chu Feng was completely unharmed and that he was just acting. He wanted nothing more but to run over and slap him into forty segments!

Even the old woman who had been burned silly was astonished despite her diminished reactions. She couldn’t calm down in her heart because his damned moans were too... evil.

As for god’s messenger Abel, he truly wished to curse out loud. What was he being forced to listen to even on the verge of death? This sound was defiling to the ears. How shameful!

"I can’t take it anymore. Brother Chu, you’re proficient in the study of domains. Don’t you have any methods to resolve this? Please come and save me!"

A certain king level expert had been burnt until he was rolling on the ground. His true form had been revealed and he was a giant rooster. His whole body was wrapped in raging flames and had become a giant torch. Half his body had already been burnt away.

"Brother Chicken, I can’t block the disastrous flames either. I was dragged into this by you lot. Even my flesh is about to be cooked through, ahh!" Chu Feng cried out loud without any tears.

The meat was indeed about to be cooked but it certainly wasn’t Chu Feng’s. He could already smell the aroma of chicken meat. He sighed in secret and felt regretful. This was a chicken king with six severed shackles!

He certainly wouldn’t go and save them. He had already warned everyone not to step in here and those who held goodwill towards him definitely wouldn’t enter. Those with evil intentions and others who ignored his warnings were being served their just deserts.

Chu Feng’s heart was filled with satisfaction—flames were raging outside of the furnace, and the interior was filled with rising mist and rosy clouds as the flow of various types of mysterious energies lifted him into the air.

The evolution of his weapons was evident!

He had long since removed the diamond chakram and placed it at the heart of the eight trigrams furnace. There the bracelet hovered, rising and falling wildly from time to time. It was engulfed by colorful radiance and enshrouded in white immortal mists.

Profound and complex patterns materialized on the dazzling chakram which even Chu Feng couldn’t see through. He would need to study them slowly.

He knew that this so-called ultimate garbage was somewhat odd. It wasn’t as simple as he had imagined.

Now that it was being refined in the revered furnace, some of its mystical facets had appeared and it was becoming even more unfathomable.

He vaguely saw the patterns on the diamond chakram form an image. Purple mist from the east assembled for 15,000 kilometers before aggregating within a single morning to form a dazzling bracelet.

At the same time, the bright red flying knife beside him had also undergone drastic changes.

Amidst clanging sounds, the scarlet flying knife shrunk and, accompanied by blazing flames, some dark red substances peeled off.

The weapon was being polished—impurities were cast away, leaving only the essence. It was astonishing.

The red knife began to grow smaller at a visible rate and was constantly becoming concentrated. Its color was becoming even brighter and lustrous.

Some red substances fell to the ground as if a piece of beautiful gemstone was being peeled off to reveal the resplendent scarlet gem within.

This was an astonishing change!

The scarlet flying knife was extraordinary and shouldn’t have that many impurities. This was clearly an optimization at the next level.

Chu Feng felt that it was impossible for his weapon nurturing array to exert such an effect. This was completely due to the revered eight trigrams furnace!

Such naturally occurring cave furnaces were the most suitable for nurturing weapons and refining pills. This place was truly a secret realm of fortunes. Unfortunately, there were no mutant fruits on him. Otherwise, he might just be able to transform it into spirit pills.

"I’ll try it next time. I’ll pick some mutant fruits and place them within the eight trigrams furnace for refinement. I don’t expect to get things like the Nine Transformations Golden Pill. It’s enough if it can help me evolve."

Chu Feng’s expression changed.

The black and white grinding stone within his body was being remodeled. Once it completely formed, there would be no problem even if he directly consumed mutant fruits and spirit pills. He would no longer be confined to using pollen for evolution.

Yellow Ox had once said that this item was extraordinary and could help him purify his energy and blood essence. It would remove all types of harmful materials.

Everything was progressing in a good direction and Chu Feng was truly looking forward to it.

Within his body, the black and white grinding stone rotated slowly. It was enveloped in mist and was split into two colors like yin and yang. It was becoming more mysterious and unfathomable.

"Oww..."

Chu Feng couldn’t help but let out another ecstatic "scream" to match the group outside.

"Too shameful!" Outside the domain, Jiang Luoshen spat out. Although it sounded as if Chu Feng was in misery, she knew something was odd. A blush appeared on her beautiful and spotless countenance. She couldn’t help but feel that this fellow was odd. It didn’t feel as if he was on the verge of death.

Some other people had also noticed Chu Feng and began to listen carefully. It was indeed a mournful cry, but why did it make people’s imagination run wild?

Only the problem lady sighed in admiration. "This sound is so attractive. It’s pleasing to the ears and extremely sexy."

Within the domain, the old Taoist ground his teeth and said, "Little demoness, you’re really humiliating me. Can’t you be more reserved? You have sage blood flowing in your veins and should be thinking about how to suppress the geniuses of every world. I’m allowing you to walk through the mortal world to seek enlightenment not so that you can set your heart on mundane matters. Look at the way you’re dressed up! Look at your posture! What a scandal!"

"Tsk!" The rebellious 12-year-old girl curled the corner of her mouth and completely ignored his words. With her charming eyes and tall, curvaceous figure, she was like a mature enchantress.

The old Taoist rebuked in rage, "How can you be so thoughtless when your grandpa is already being burnt like this?!"

"Old geezer, you’re so powerful. I’m sure you’ll be fine. At most, your buttocks will be burnt to a crisp. You’ll be fine as long as you recuperate for a period in a bent over position!" The problem lady laughed with a clap.

The old man in Taoist garb was so infuriated that he couldn’t calm down his fluctuating emotions and wanted to vomit blood. He was simply helpless against the girl.

"Ah..."

Some dying screams were heard from certain areas around the eight trigrams furnace. Many people had been burnt to death.

One could see piles of ashes left behind in certain areas. Nothing else was left of the victims.

"Everyone, don’t be distracted! We have to work together and save them." Some people were pale and anxious like a cat on a hot tin roof.

That was because their people were trapped inside.

"Quick, move together! We have to destroy this land and dissolve this domain in order to save the group of kings inside. This is a great contribution. The merit of saving a life surpasses building a seven-floored pagoda!" Someone chimed in.

Apparently, experts from quite a number of major powers had charged into the domain. Furthermore, those who had gone in were all leading characters who could call upon the wind and rain. It would cause too great an effect if they were to fall inside.

But when they took action, they were engulfed by the calamity as flames extended out towards them. They were literally burnt after "playing with fire".

Many veined patterns appeared on the ground and began to glow and intersect brilliantly. They rushed out of the inferno and engulfed the rescuers.

"Ah, no!" some people cried out in misery.

At this moment, they came to understand the agony of those in the domain. Some bird kings wanted to rush towards the sky but they couldn’t even take off as they were locked down by a certain force.

It seemed as if they were trapped in a swamp and couldn’t move at all while the flames swallowed them whole.

"Save us!"

It was too miserable. The dozen-odd experts who had taken action just now were enveloped by the eight trigram flames and became trails of dust.

There were a large number of evolved beings in the mountainous area. Now, all of them were thoroughly shocked as they gazed at the miserable situation of the kings inside and listened to their anguished cries. Everyone felt terrified.

Just what was going on? Were domains so terrifying?

Many people such as the Hollow Jade Temple Master and the corporate heads all gazed into the domain with heavy hearts. This place had completely toppled their understanding.

"Major domains are actually so terrifying? The master is able to borrow the power of the topography to massacre everyone with a single thought. This is too terrifying!" Someone sighed.

"Could this be done by Chu Feng?" the Hollow Jade Temple Master said.

"It’s unlikely. He himself is trapped and seemingly in danger at the moment. It’s hard to say if he’ll be able to come out alive," said Qi Honglin from the Pre-Qin Research Institute, his eyes shining brilliantly.

He recounted an old story of how they had once come here to dig up a legendary tomb but was almost wiped out.

Everyone turned silent after hearing this.

"This should be the doing of an ancient domain researcher. He must’ve carved various mysterious symbols here that can still threaten us even in this era."

At first, they had thought that, although those proficient in domains were geniuses, they were only destined to serve evolved beings, for instance by drawing on earth fire to nurturing weapons.

But now, they were all astonished to find that such people were absolutely heaven-defying!

"Chu Feng is the only one on earth proficient in domains, but he himself has been trapped. Who can save them now?"

At this moment, everyone felt that it was completely hopeless.

"Second Young Master, you have to hold on!" a marine race expert from the southern sea cried out.

Some people were eager to protect their masters and risked their lives to attempt a rescue. However, all was futile—they were like moths rushing at the flame. In the end, they were burned to death on the spot and couldn’t solve the problem at all.

"How hateful!" Hei Chi cried out. He had been burnt to the point where he had reverted to his true form, but that only worsened things because the target was simply too big. The black flood serpent, hundreds of meters in length, rolled on the ground enshrouded in blazing flames. The metallic qi in them shot at him with great ferocity and cut him into a dozen segments. In the end, he stopped moving completely.

Roar!

The raging flames surged towards the sky. Hei Chi’s bones were broken and his flesh all but gone. He was completely dead.

"God, oh goddammit! Who will save me! Whoever saves me is god! Chu Feng please come and help me. I was only working on orders to capture you to the west. This has nothing to do with me!"

God’s messenger Abel cried out wretchedly. He couldn’t hold on much longer.

Crack!

The lantern in his hand disintegrated and the extreme yin flames within were dispersed, resulting in a huge explosion as it came in contact with the extreme yang flames.

God’s messenger cried out in misery. Half his body was blown away and only the part above his chest remained intact. He was on the verge death and gasping for air.

"Oh god, you despicable bastard. No one working for you has ever met a good ending! First it was Schiller then Yamen, and now it’s my turn. Ah, you wretched god!"

This was Abel’s final cry. Afterwards, he was promptly reduced to a skeleton and died a miserable death. He left muttering curses till the very end.

"Chu Feng, please think of a method. This old woman is begging you. I shouldn’t have tried to forcefully capture you. Please save me!" The old woman’s body glowed several times but hadn’t yet died. This made people sigh in astonishment.

She was holding onto an azure vine which could seemingly die in the owner’s place. It glowed three times in succession and drew away the flames enshrouding the old woman.

"Old lady, oww, I’m also about to die. I’m about to refined into a human pill. Can’t you smell the scent of cooked flesh? Ah, old lady, come and save me. I’ll definitely follow you into the mountains."

Chu Feng’s howl sounded too ear-piercing to the old lady. What oww? What entering the mountains? This was a blatant mockery! What qualifications did she still have to take Chu Feng away? She herself was about to be finished soon.

Thump!

Finally, the azure vine was burnt away. The old woman’s shriveled body could no longer endure and was completely immolated amidst cries akin to wolves and ghosts.

"What smell is that?" Chu Feng sniffed. Finally, he screamed and examined himself. He could really smell the scent of pills and fragrance of meat.

He grew frantic and wanted nothing more than to extinguish the flames immediately. Was he really about to roast himself?

"Ah, oh mother! I’m really about to be well done. Dammit!" he cursed out loud. He had almost thrown himself into disaster.

He then began to feel a certain pain in his eyes as if they were about to burst open.

Following which, he felt unbearable agony as if his eyes were being pricked by needles. Additionally, they were glowing!

Chu Feng cried out in misery and began to roll on the ground. This astonished everyone outside. They realized he was really about to be finished because some flames were visible on his body.

Just as Chu Feng was about to extinguish the source of these flames, he found that his eyes had begun to cool down and were no longer painful. Following which, two beams of golden light shot out from his eyes.

"Eh?!" He was stunned. What situation was this? Why had his vision become so much stronger?

"Fiery Eyes?!" Chu Feng was suspicious. This Revered Eight Trigrams Furnace had refined his eyes into something special.

He glanced outside and revealed an odd expression as his gaze fell on the group of people outside. How was he able to see their bodies through their clothes?!

"Eh? That’s... Jiang Luoshen!" He saw Jiang Luoshen’s slender body. The white peaks on her chest were tall, dazzling and lustrous.

"Truly... vast and majestic." Chu Feng was dazzled. He felt somewhat guilty while singing her praises. He felt that he shouldn’t have glanced so indiscriminately.

But then he "accidentally" glanced once again.

"Aou..." He howled once again, truly afraid that he would grow a sty. [1]

...

[1] I think Chinese parents tell their children that they’ll grow a sty if they peek at other people.
